Conference on Protecting the Integrity of Academic Work
The Harry Crowe Foundation’s second conference addressed a variety of significant threats and challenges facing academic researchers in Canada and abroad. Held in Ottawa (November 2-4, 2007), the conference revolved around four primary themes:
- academia's production-driven research culture,
- pressures exerted by external research sponsors,
- outside pressures on academic discourse, and
- the unbundling of faculty work.
The Foundation is pulling together a collection of essays based on presentations made at the conference which should be available by Fall, 2008.
